Where do you shop?

In todays world there is no doubt about the large variety of places to buy men's designer underwear.  I thought I might break it down and we want to hear your thoughts on the subject.

• Shopping Malls - There's always Macy's, JCPenny's, Sears and so on.  While most stores carry alot of big name underwear like Calvin Klein, 2(x)ist and Tommy Hilfiger underwear it seems these big retailers only carry basic styles and usually basic colors.  My personal experience in department stores has always been that I feel a little uncomfortable while browsing - and from what I have seen it seems that most others do too!  Which brings us to the next place that you can shop for men's underwear.
• Online Mega-Sites - Now when I say mega sites I mean places that either, one been around for many years and/or offer a wide selection of items or two offer both men's and women's underwear (examples:  Freshpair, International Jock, MalestromOnline, TopDrawers, UnderwearProducts and UnderGear)  Places like this are the big players online.  These company's are the ones that make themselves noticed like Freshpair who sells both men's and women's underwear and were the creators of National Underwear Day.  Places like Undergear & International Jock carry a wide selection and are well known in the gay community since both have been around since the boom of the Internet.  Most of these online stores have a great selection, prices and readily available customer service. 
• Online "Mom & Pop" Sites (or in some cases "Pop & Pop" sites) - Alot of the stores in this category are relatively new to the scene but all bring their own flair to the online men's underwear scene.  These stores are also usually owned and run by a single person or a couple.  (examples:  Apollowear, Dead Good Undies, Mensuas, JockBoyLocker, Pacific Jock and others)  While they usually offer fewer brands you will always find these stores will go above and beyond to satisfy their customers whenever they can.  These are the stores that have been started by people that are passionate about underwear and take their time to help you in any buying decision you have. 
• Brick & Mortar Shops - These are stores - physical locations that cater to mainly gay men.  They usually offer a good selection of men's underwear and swimwear, but also will have clothing and accessories.  A lot of these are in major cities however some do offer their merchandise online also.  (examples:  Universal Gear (DC, Chicago, New York, Atlanta), UnderU4men (Seattle), Boy Next Door (Atlanta), Urban Body (Orlando, Tampa), 80 Percent Straight (Hawaii), Graffitti (Key West), TopDrawers (Vancouver) and many others across the country)  Most of these are very similar to the Online "Mom & Pop" Shops except they have a physical location.  These are places you can go and feel comfortable while browsing, you will also find items in these stores that you are not going to find in your local shopping mall.  Make sure to find your local store and check them out.
• Brands/Designers Online - A lot of your favorite brands or designers usually have their own sites.  however some do not offer their items for sale on their own sites.  So that is when you must visit one of the first 4 options in order to purchase their items.  (examples:  aussieBum, C-IN2, dik, Go Softwear, Ginch Gonch, Vizeau, Tiger Underwear, Andrew Christian, Jocko, Boiish, 2(x)ist, Calvin Klein, Diesel, Rufskin and many others)  These sites are a good place to start if you know the brand when you are looking for something.  They always have their newest styles showcased and if you are unable to buy directly from them most have a "places to buy" page.

Buying underwear is something we all do and when it comes down to it make sure you are comfortable with the company or place you are buying from.  Also remember if you have a good experience let others know - that way it takes some of the guess work out of it for others!    

The end of Belts as we know it?

So the other day I was browsing around the web and happened upon a very interesting fashion trend that I had never heard about or seen!  The company is Schultz Jeans which promises the end of Belts as we know it!  They have an innovative line of jeans and also offer a selection of men's underwear in briefs and boxer briefs with saying such as "Coming Soon", "Heatseeker", "Hands Free" and "I Want Out".  Their Underwear Line is meant to compliment their jeans which make it so you can wear you jeans lower on the hip without them falling off... I know when I don't wear a belt I am constantly pulling up my jeans so they don't go to low!! They also make it so if you want you can wear your jeans with the full fly open so you can proudly show off your designer underwear.  I don't know that I am that brave but I do love to show off my waistband.  So let us know what you think of this fashion trend, who knows it may be like the women of the 60's burning their bras, men everywhere may be grabbing a can of gasoline to burn their belts!
